When your child’s life is shaped by ongoing medical needs, your own life changes too—emotionally, relationally, and psychologically.
Most parents are so focused on survival that they don’t have time to name or even fully feel the toll it takes. And they don't know how to cope.
If you're the parent of a medically complex child, you probably know what it's like to:
This kind of parenting is extraordinary—and it’s also traumatizing in ways that most people can’t see or understand.
I’m here to offer something different:
Not just support—but tools, education, and a path back to yourself.
As a mental health clinician and professor, who became a parent to a medically complex child, I’ve lived this tension. I know what it’s like to sit in the waiting room as a clinician, academic researcher, and a mom. I’ve navigated the system professionally—and broken down within it personally.
This overlap gives me a rare perspective. I created this education and consultation space to offer real-world, emotionally attuned, non-clinical support for families who need more than surface-level advice.
When you’ve spent months—or years—fighting for your child’s care, living in hospitals, or responding to crisis after crisis, your nervous system learns to stay in survival mode.
That’s why:
It’s not because you’re doing something wrong.
It’s because your body has been protecting you for too long, and it doesn’t know how to let go.
You are doing the impossible—every day. But you shouldn’t have to figure out how to carry it alone. My parent education and support focuses on:
Coping well doesn’t mean you’re unaffected—it means you’re learning how to move forward in a way that is sustainable, grounded, and emotionally honest.
I provide parent education and support that helps you understand the why behind what you’re feeling—and gives you tools to begin shifting out of chronic overwhelm.
This isn’t therapy. It’s targeted education, nervous system support, and emotional skill-building designed just for caregivers like you.
You can meet with me one-on-one or in small groups, where I’ll walk with you as you learn to:
✅ Understand how medical trauma affects your brain and body
✅ Notice and name your emotional and physical reactions
✅ Recognize your nervous system states in real time
✅ Begin shifting from reactivity to regulation
✅ Reconnect with a sense of calm, safety, and agency
This education and support is for you if:
No diagnosis required. No right or wrong story. Just a space to breathe, learn, and grow.
In these support sessions, I’ll help you:
You’ll leave with practical skills, personal insight, and the understanding that you are not broken—you’re brave, and you’re healing.
